untitled (?) Of all the galleries, this had my favorite pieces, highlighted by this one directly. It had dark colors in the leaves draped across the top and bright light blue and white to make the gates beneath appear to be glowing. I admired the technique and application of color, shape, and emphasis to create a scene. I also admired it's size, since it wasn't a very large piece, and seeing as I work very small I was drawn to such a beautiful piece of this size. |

"Bough" This Gallery had been a lot of landscapes, especially ones around Milwaukee that I recognized. A lot of them reminded me of Monet in his use of color, depiction of water, and use of autumn or shade at times. I picked this piece as my favorite because of the obvious connections I could draw between impressionist styles/ideas and monet. |

untitled 8 1/2" x 11" This Gallery was put on by the owner of a fish company, who over the years has taken pictures of his employees and things around the industry. It was hard to pick one picture as the highlight, because the entire gallery felt as if it all went together, furthered emphasized by the lack of individual names on the pieces, and taking one piece out took something away from it. I did appreciate the neon lights in this picture, with the warm inside through the windows surrounded by a dark night. |

Rejuvenation: Atwater Beach Cinephile Series Out of all the pictures I saw in this gallery, I was drawn to this small piece, because from afar it looked like one of my favorite things to photograph; Lake Michigan from the highway. It turns out what I thought was the median was sand, but any way I was very pleased by the composition, and decided it was my favorite. |

"Mama said" series I wasn't planning on going into this gallery, but I was drawn to the unconventional ways of creating art that showed strong cultural influences. These pieces along the wall didn't have a clear name, but shared "Mama said," as stories from the artist growing up. Some were filled with humor while others contained essential life lessons that tie us together cross-culturally. |

"Sunset's End" Acrylic and tape on canvas 12x12 This Gallery was a small part of a much larger one, but the artist's use of colors and straight lines drew me in until I realized they utilized tape in their piece. I picked this one as my favorite because of the warm colors (of a sunset) in contrast with the blacks, whites and greys. It made the piece stand out. |
